The Mod bug finally bit me.

Took advantage of the holiday weekend to install a few things;
Walbro Fuel pump
Vishnu- V-band (TBE) Thermo wrapped the downpipe.
Megan 02 Housing
Busher’s ported exhaust manifold
ETS 3” FMIC
ETS LICP
Injen intake/UICP
Forge MBC
Zeitronix zt 2 (wideband-Boost-EGT)
Everything went smooth except for a couple of things. 1-The Downpipe (bought used from a member) sits right up against the transfer case. I was told it should fit the 9, but from looking at it, it must be for the 8. 2- I’m not impressed with Injen’s quality. I managed to line up the piping and all, but it took a lot more finagling than I expected.
Currently, the car has ECU flash which was done by Big Al 2 years ago. I will keep the boost around 17-20 until I get a chance to get it Ivy tuned, maybe in a couple of days.

A few pics:

Dynoed 9.9.09

Thanks to Sean (IvyTune). Strapped it on the dyno today after work. The chart below is bolt-ons and ECU flash @ 20-21psi vs. Dyno tune @ 24-25psi.
With the ECU flash, It was running a little lean in some spots, Sean smoothed everything out.

No baby hands on the heat shield!!! That warning always makes me roll...

BTW, good foundation of base mods, any thoughts on the O2 housing?

I also was not a fan of the Injen pipes. With the heightened boost levels i am running, some of the connecting hoses were so short they just popped right off.. I had installed them to get rid of as much rubber hosing as possible, also the larger diameter pipes couldn't hurt.. In the end everything worked out alright, but yes, a very hard fit and you have to really make sure the connections are in ship shape or you will be in trouble...

How much therm wrap did you end up using on the downpipe?

I bought 50' roll, used about 1/2, maybe a little more.

I'm having the same problem in sourcing a DP. Was told that with the correct application of force that a hammer could rectify that small area.

What do you think? How much would you have to alter the pipe to make it fit?

Took it to the track this past weekend. All went well, with the boost set @ 22-23 psi. Video, http://www.vimeo.com/6912579
