If same as E8:

*Remove the 4 bolts from the underside of the trunk-lid and the double-sided tape under the feet of the spoiler mounts using floss or mono fishing leader (2 bolts are in sight, the other 2 might be under the rubber stoppers; just spin CC to remove these spacers) Omit if spoiler isn't attached to deck-lid...

1) Remove 4 allen bolts holding the trapezoid-shaped cover on both base peices, revealing 2 more allen bolts that mount the base to the connecting bracket.

2) Remove 2 bolts on both sides of the mounting bracket as mentioned in step 1, this reveals 2 more allen bolts that connect the mounting bracket to the vertical peice of the wing.

3) Remove the bolts that connect the mounting bracket to the vertical peice of the wing mentioned in step 2

DONE

You can pop them out. They are glued pretty tight so becareful. The inner CF part is one piece. The wings themselves you can remove. I bought a white wing last year and removed the sides and replaced it with red sides.

I'm glad someone else besides me was able to take apart the oem 8 wing. I just about got into an internet argument because someone who claimed to refinish the 8 wings swore up and down that the wing could not be taken apart. So I took mine apart "again" and emailed them the pics.

I managed to get the side off, thanks for the tips. You just have to pull steadily, and it will come off.

bigben, can you send me the pics on how to take the sides off? i got most of my wing sanded except for the edge near the plastic. i was under the impression that you couldn't take them off because they were rivited.

So if you take apart the wing and that center part is a different piece of the wing. Would there be a part number so we could just replace the middle carbon section instead of buying the wing?
