Hope you got all-season tires or you probably won't get very far even with AWD.

kevin, there's not going to be any layer of ice anywhere in the engine bay. If there's enough freezing rain to create a layer of ice everywhere anyhow, you aren't driving in it! Besides that it will melt as quickly as the engine warms up IF there is any to begin with.

I am going to re-oil my intake element (RMR) before the winter hits. No worries. Plus having a garage sure is nice.

I might have to find me some skinny WRC-snow-spec wheels to have some fun... (gee, if they only weren't so damned expensive...).

SC - you coming out tonight?

Re: Hood Vent in Winter

Here is what I plan to do. Get a tent when you are away from home and setup a gas generator, and hook up an alarm clock and set it to go off every 30min. Once the clock goes off get up and dust the snow off the hood. Now you may have to get up sooner if it is snowing really hard but most of the time 30min should be good.

What are you people going to do in the winter when it snows for the hood vent? I plan to buy a plastic or metal piece custom fitted and slip it over. I am running an HKS intake and dont feel like sucking in snow in the morning.

well, i have an open air filter element using the HKS RS kit. I dun want it to suck down water during the winter when the car is warming up.
