Question about HID's in evo

My evo didn't come stock with hid's
I took the aftermarket hid ballast and bulbs off the talon(because Its still down) It was plug and play. All went well for 1 week. Then I washed the car. Then my driver side HID went out . Thinking I may have gotten watter on the ballast, I ordered another set of HIDS. I drove around with out a Driver side light for 1 week until the new HID Ballast came in. Installed the new ballast. Worked great for 20min. Then I parked it, let it set for an hour. Went back in the car and turned it on. Now it wont turn back on WTF
If you turn the switch on. You see it flutter alittle light from the bulb then cut off.

I'm tired of taking the damn bumper off the evo, its not fun lol Any ideas what it could be before I take it off again?

Well Where my Ballast is mounted its actually pretty hard to get to. Its on the frame next to the power steering pump. It seems the only way to get to it is take off the bumper

No relay. Its direct plug and play. Installed it the same as I did for my talon http://www.sharphid.com/installation/2gdsminstall.pdf

Its the xentec brand. I've had them on the talon for 2 years without any problems at all

Ok I've read somewhere that on here that you should replace the 10amp fuse with a 20amp fuse. Can anybody verify this? I'm about to try it shortly.

Not 100% sure what the problem is, but highly reccomend using shink wrap tubing on the connections, or silicone on the relay to prevent water issues.

Good luck!

Sounds like a bad ballast to me if they flutter and turn off....try swapping the ballast from the other side and see what's up. PM me if you need any more help.

UPDATE:
Well I guess the new ballast burnt up as well I swapped it to the other side and it didn't work.
It may have had something to do with me leaving the headlights on when I start the car. It would flutter before turning on, Maybe it burnt it up when it fluttered?

I put the other new ballast on and changed the fuse to a 20amp rather then a 10amp. It seems to be working fine now. The lights turn on quicker as well, Don't know if that even makes sense or not?

End results leave headlights off before starting car, and change out to bigger fuse.
Anybody else had to do that as well?

I think the bigger fuse was your solution. Though having your lights on at start up isn't necessary.
