I think the car has been lauched a whole 15 times in it's life, it's the color I've always wanted, flawless inside and out. Perfectly maintained.. and so on.

Either way I may go to the bank just to see what it would look like on paper before I even post anything FS or make a decision. I've got all winter to really figure it out.
A EVO IX with 17k in great shape would probably sell for around $25 grand. So if you sold yours for around $17,000 you would make 6 grand off your sale so you would owe $19,000 on the EVO 9 which is almost double what you owe on your 8! You know the history of your car, and clearly from your original post, you are very capable of fixing it if need be. Have fun with the car, mod it and get a safe tune for it. I say let the modding begin.

As you're waving goodbye to your hard earned cash for a higher car payment, you'll think to yourself, I already had an evo, why did I buy another?.

Update.. I sold the car last month and bought an IX. All in all I'm extremely happy with my decision. Cost me exactly the same per month to have the newer car, just for a longer duration of time.
