Using slightly old oil?

All the things you are worrying about apply to brake fluid not oil. The engine when it burns fuel produces CO2 and water and some of this water is always leaking past the rings and getting into the crankcase. So, oil exposed to air is hardly a problem.
The next time you buy an oil filter, look up the Dodge Stealth. This filter fits the Evo but it is larger, large enough so that all five quarts can go in. Now, you have a better filter and no extra dabs of oil sitting around.

Personally I wouldn't use it. I'm protective about everything with my evo. Engine oil after being run in an engine gathers so much dirt from the enigne in the matter of minutes. 2-4 months of dirty oil is not something I would want in my engine. The car would be fine and run fine, you wouldn't notice a difference, it won't hurt anything, you can use it with no problem, but like I said I wouldn't do it. I would save it for when you need to top off the oil or something.

oil will be completely fine. like smike said, unlike brake fluid as long as its been sealed nothing to worry about
as far as gas. I usually dont let it go below a quarter, but in the past few months ive been letting it get pretty low. the gas light seems to go on (as a warning) and then go off again. it means you have at least 2 gallons left. if you drive with it on for about 20-30 miles (average use for me) you will not go below 1.5 gallons. just be careful as people said, dont wana risk the walbro

You really think that sitting in the fuel is what keeps your pump cool? Or maybe... just maybe.. its the 255lph of liquid being moved internally through your pump that keeps it cool.... I mean maybe it being in gas helps some.. but that big ole metal casing isnt exactly the worlds greatest heat sink.
