I am afraid to find out. They had it on the rack for quite some time but it came out very nicely. I guess the extra time on the rack saved me time and money by no longer needing to replace the core support. We will see how it looks on Monday when I get the bill...

Ok well the last day has been spent taking a good look at the car to see what needs to be done and trying to decide what route to take to get it there. I am trying to stick to my original plan of building a track car with about 450whp. With that in mind, the A/C has been removed and parts of the interior are on their way out. I also decided to ditch the stock exhaust manifold and turbo. Now its time to decide what to replace it with and what I will need for supporting mods.

If anyone has any input, I would appreciate your comments...

Heres a pic of the motor stripped down:

You can easily reach 450whp with a stock ported exhaust manifold and a fp red or green turbo. No need to ditch the stock appearance. I'd say get lower and upper i/c pipes, larger front mount intercooler, cams, TBE, injectors, walbro 255 and a great tune.

WOW! Just reading the progress thus far is exhilarating! I wish you the best of luck with the build. Listen to what the last couple of posters are telling you. You do not have to go HUGE with this car to get HUGE hp and torque. 272's cams the fuel pump mentioned above, fp red or green larger ic ( I am personally a fan of AMS) shorter tubing, small battery ( I like the Odyssey) E85 for your fuel choice ( I have a switch in mine for both reg fuel and E85. the difference is 61whp between the two settings) 1,000 or 1,200 injectors and a super tuner (do your research on the people around you that tune. DON'T take it to just anyone. Use locals in your area that have had good luck with a tuner to be your guide.!!!) And you should be set! Welcome aboard and keep us posted. I am signing up for alerts on this post right now! Cheers, Rick

I sit pretty nicely in the car but it was missing quite a few parts, not to mention the damage. The money is going to start adding up quickly now but the car should be nice when its done.

Hey Rick, thanks for the info!

I do plan to upgrade the turbo so I am thinking about adding the following parts:

FP Red
HKS 272's
ETS FMIC to work with my Cusco Front Member
1,000cc Injectors (Not sure on a brand?)
Walbro 255
Injen Intake and Pipe Kit (On its way)
BOV (No idea which one...)
Mishimoto Radiator

Any other parts needed or suggestions?

As far as the bov goes... do the APS twin vent. I love mine and is one of the best out there.

Another member brought the BBK XL turbo to my attention. I am seriously considering that one due to the fact that CBRD is somewhat local to me and I would most likely have them tune my car. I would also like their radiator but they are a bit pricey!

Two weeks ago I didn't even own a Evo yet! haha

Thanks for the comments I will look into them also.

What all is needed (least mods possible) to get this car running with a new FP red/black or BBK xl turbo? I am assuming cams, injectors, and fuel pump...

Let's say you have a stock motor, minimum would be; tbe, upper and lower ic, larger intercooler, stock ported exhaust manifold, full bbk or fp green or red, walbro 255, 1000cc injectors, 272 cams, arp head studs and a tune. It's still a good chunk of change about 4.5k in parts. You could lower that in the for sale forums. And then there's the price of the tune.

Also, do you have e85 available or just pump gas? You can get more power with an e85 tune.
