I'm telling you an open cone filter looks better than a CF box filter IMO. I'm also telling you it also looks less cluttered IMO.

The cone filter may look better but the air box is far more practical. The air box protects the air filter, draws cooler air from the front of the car, and takes advantage of ram air effect.

If you want the ram air and cool air you can do this. Best of both worlds. I don't like the box.

This one is supposed to be larger than oem, allowing more air in.

Thanks for the feedback. I know Rexpeed had one at one time that look exactly like the OEM except CF. This one is wider and looks draw more air. I been watching the price of it and it just showed up under a new seller where the price has dropped by about $100.00.

Unlike most everyone here I like to keep more of an OEM look. I am told the OEM box with a K&N drop-in is good up to 400 hp or so. I figure this would be a nice upgrade without making a lot change to the engine compartment.

If your trying to go for an OEM look go for it. HKS and Cosworth also make drop in filters. You get more power out of not having the box.

i had a cf airbox cover made by rex speed, the opening was a little wider and with a k&n air filter it had a little bit of a growl. it was def. a lot cleaner look. the only problem these days is finding one in decent shape.
