Searched couldnt find anything. My ? is can you just swap an ecu from another car and it'll work or is there programming involved or what know? Like if i buy a used ecu is there anything i should be aware of or what. I heard something about the vins need to be programmed into the ecu or something.

the immobilizer code is the only real issue...you could disable it and that would work fine

search in the ecuflash forum

06 will only work in 06 cars since it is a 4 plug. I would stick with 04/03 ecus for 03/04 cars and 05 should stick with 05 ecu since there is differnces in the rom.

From your posts I would suggest spending some time reading the sub-forum: ecuflash, there is a ton of information - search / read. The last thing you want is to really f-up an ecu/car because you changed something you shouldn't have.
