Evo Rebuild
Hey guys, im new here and new to evos and turbo cars in general. I recently bought a 2006 Evo SE off of a insurance auction, after recently selling my 350z. My father owns a bodyshop, and we rebuild salvage cars. So i figured id show you guys our latest project. I want to post this thread for many different reasons, to show you progress (for those interested), and to see if any of you can get me some deals, give me info on where i could find cheeper parts, and maybe even find out if you guys know who the previous owner of this car was. The car was bought in Pennsylvania, and is not at my shop yet, but im kinda excited to know what kind of aftermarket parts are installed, if you spot anything, let me know. Your eyes are alot more trained then mine when it comes to these cars. Thank you all for the help in advance
-Peter (sorry in advance for the spelling and gramatical errors, i tried my best)

iaai huh...
doesnt look like youve got anything crazy, but from what i see, intercooler, exhaust manifold, and that filter on the side of the valve cover.
that things pretty beat up, best of luck to you. ive done similar things, this forum is a great place to meet people and buy parts. i dont think youll have any problems here.

what a small world I was gonna bid on that evo but missed it haha. I live in PA and me and my father also own a salvage shop. Ironicly I just bought an Evo from newburgh im sure you have seen it. Would you mind asking how much you got yours for I'm still pissed I missed that one. Here is a pic of mine its in way worse shape than yours but I have many shops around here selling parts for cheap. If you want send me a message on here with a list of parts you need and ill let you know what the shops around me are selling I got a place that sell hoods for 300, radiators for 200, ac condesor for 150, radiator support 300 and so on. ALSO on the other hand can anyone tell me if its worth putting a 28R in a evo? I got this turbo laying around and I'm not sure if I should instal it or just buy a new stock one

This is a small world, I'm currently looking at 4 different ones myself. But it's also good to see were saving these cars and putting them back on the road, Salvage title cars do not scare me as long as they're put back together correctly.

yea no doubt ive been driving salvages all my life and love em I got my for 3700 but I already see it needs a **** load of parts. I didnt notice the turbo and the exhaust manifold was hit but I have a 28R laying around I might put in I just need some feedback on it. Iaai is a great site for salvage evos but these cars hold value.

yea 28000 miles. BUT like I said the car is still on the truck coming to the shop so im not sure of the damage yet. PLUS its a NY salvage which is always a biatch to get done their redic with their salvage inspections I cant buy any parts of forums nor ebay :/ and dealer has some crazy prices 1400 for hood!!!! but i found my out my aftermarket parts store ( Continental auto parts) sells the hoods for 300 so im not that worried any more. I just need some feedback on that 28R or if I should just stick with stock

If the car is still a NY salvage and needs an inspection than get ready for a good time. NY is the most annoying salvage state. You have to get your inspection done in NY and if your airbags are deployed you need to buy them only from a dealership or it will not pass inspection. You need to fill out a form and mail it to them and wait for a inspection date. Than you have to drive to their inspection station and drop the car of there with all the part receits and labor receit. When I say their picky I mean it they wont pass you if you have a missing receit or a missing bolt its nuts. BUT if its a clean title with a salvage record than your fine. I'm not looking forward to my NY inspection cuz finding parts for these cars is hard as is but finding parts from stores is imposible
