Weather Tech floor mats worth it?
#31
Don't have them in my Evo as it is not my daily driver. I got a set for my wife's mini cooper and we are pleased with them. So to answer your question... Yes they are worth it, especially during the snowy winters or rainy times of the year.

I have been thinking about ordering some. I am just wondering if its going to be more difficult to use the clutch for those of us who leave our foot on the floor. ][/QUOTE]
You should be okay. Like I said I don't have them in the Evo, but the Mini is a stick and I don't have trouble while depressing the clutch and letting it out.

I have an M3 and a 740i with Weather tech slush mats. They are amazing. Highly recommend the mats and hey fit perfectly.
I will say just get the front mats though if you don't see many people sitting in your back seat. I have the rears in the 740i and they are just a bit too long for the car.
Overall though, they are a great thing to have.

Please note: Weathertech does not make factory fit for the Evo 8/9.
I ordered a set and were very surprised to find out they do not make them. The ones they sent did not fit very well.
I have since returned them and found that mitsubishiparts.net has factory ones cheaper.

Weathertechs>OEM rubber. I had a set in my WRX and they were awesome. They are really a floor liner more than a floor mat, they go up the sides all the way around and everything. High quality and well worth the money. I plan on getting a set for my Evo one of these days.

i just got them. 90% satisfied. the driver side and the passenger side has an issue with the side wall that doesn't flush against the wall..but i read that its temporary and i just have to stretch out for a minute and it should be good. the back mat was AWESOME! perfect fit without any issues. i think its worth it if you are a OCD cleaner person like me. others can do without the $200 bill...I just love my EVO this much to get her this gift!

reddragun3, that looks great!
I tried looking for a set like that for my EVO 8, but couldn't find them. All that I found was a generic set that would need to be cut to fit. I also want a fitted trunk mat like that, but can't find one either. Can someone confirm that the weather tech mats look like that for the EV0 8/9?

Although they look good and fit well, I would rather spend $200 on go fast bits than floor mats. I have a set of all season Michelin that I trimmed and they fit perfectly, I even prefer them over the OEM mats because they don't slide around while I drive due to the weight and rubber bottom. To each his own though, they look nice.

My OEM all weather mats wore through in less than 2 years and 70k miles. The rubber is too soft and my boots wore through them (as a daily driver).
I have Hexomats in my Expedition and I love them. They don't provide as much as a "cup" to hold everything as the Weathertech lazer cut stuff, but they are lower in profile and fit like normal mats. They are cut exactly to stock floor mat dimensions.
I have Lloyds Rubbertites in my Yaris, and they're exactly like the Hexomats, but instead of little hexagons on the mats, they're little circles. Same perfect fit.
I'm going this route on my next EVO.

All weather-tech products are amazing. I highly prefer floor liners if available for your vehicle. I know that they are not available for the VIII & IX but they are available for the X. See pics above. I have used the floor liners on all of my DD's and recommend them to everyone I know.
