Pic of the Ebay. I was suppose to get the JDM but when I picked my car up from the shop it was this one... It is not as bad as I thought...

I agree that OEM is better and that is what I wanted but it turned out to look ok

JDM, the ebay will fit like @#$! and you'll spend the money you saved on it doing body work to make it fit right. Some things its just better to spend a little more and get a quality product

If u buy the JDM u can install it in ur garage with no problems. Buy the fleabay fiberglass junk and ur car has to stay in a shop. They will have to make sure the paint matches, and fight it to fit right which can possibly mess something else up.

I dont care how good ur painter is. A sharp eye will be able to tell the color is off, and the cars gona look like a hack job.

I always look at the cost of what I do to my car spread over the life of the car.. Because of this, of course, I've spent a ton of money on it lol

The question is would you rather waste $450 on crap, or obtain $850 worth in a quality product?

I have a real deal one and i love it. I would go crazy if i had an ebay one and it started cracking. Even my stock one vibrates a lot due to my rough idle

there's a company on ebay that now sells a poly urethane JDM bumper, in my experience this should be alot better than fiberglass.

You are all over the place. If you truly have some kickass body shop that you aren't worried about, as your posts on the 1st page indicate, why would you need to do any leg work? If they are that good then they will know everything they need to know.

IMO, save some money and get the knockoff if your body shop is truly not a concern. If you have doubts on fitment/paint, JDM is the way to go.

I got a JDM from an Evo shop in Phoenix, Az ONLY because the insurance company covered the cost of the JDM rear. Surprisingly enough the price of the JDM was less than the stock 9 rear at dealer cost. The car was repaired at Mitsubishi Body Shop and the bumper looks perfect with the body/color.

And I was able to keep the rear crash bar or what ever you call it. Just modded the bar a little .

^not surprising on the JDM costing less. OEM parts are typically shown as costing much more than they are worth, which is a good thing for an insurance claim.

E.g. - I think the stock BBS rims for the MR are shown to be in the $600 - $800 price range, or at least they were when I got my car.

I owned Honda's and I nevr bought knock off **** for it. I had authentic JDM and high dollar US parts on it. I know people with high end luxury cars that can't afford the real deal parts that are expensive for various reasons so the put knock off stuff on their cars. Hell I would've bought Volk TE-37's instead of Rota Grids except for 1) I wanted my car to go fast and look a little better then OEm and 2) Volk doesn't make the offset I wanted (+22 instead of +20)

The reason why people pay for the JDM rear (myself included) is because it comes prepainted and doesn't require a blend from the body shop (unless your cars paint is screwed up from age, wear and tear or you didn't take care of it). Fits like OEM (because it is) and it doesn't hurt that its JDm if that your thing.

Good reasons to get the Ebay/Bayson part. You have a BBY EVO VIII or the original white color for the EVO VIII (I forget the name of it) or you are changing the color of your car completely.

You may save a few hundred going ebay but not 400....esp if your body man needs to modify the bumper to fit. I got my JDM rear for 650 shipped. You may be able to find one cheaper if scour the part out sections or if the US dollar miraculously recovers and starts doing way better then the Yen.
