Lightbulb Evo JDM Rear bumper or Ebay Replica

I know that there are plenty of threads on this topic but i want a few things clarified that i havent seen in all those threads.

Ebay Replica
- Why is it cheaper?
- What material does it use?
- Does it really involve THAT much modification to get it on right?

Evo JDM rear
- What material does this use?

The replica is a lot more cost efficient for me:
- I have a great source for body work
- $750 bumper + possible color mismatch that means ill have to add +$100 for blends
- $300 bumper unpainted so ill have blends onto my quarter panels + painting $150

In conclusion: $850 or $450

Ebay = fiber glass and fitment not that great.

Jdm = Better fitment and jdm.

Haven't dealt with EBAY JDM rear but i can tell you Authentic always fit 100% and the factory paint is superb and it comes with it! no complain at all...i rather spend another 450 so later on i don't have to deal with fitment issues

I have the JDM rear and it's absolutely flawless. As you'd expect, fitment is perfect.

Don't cheap out on this one.

The thing is i WILL not have any fitment issues, i have a great bodyshop source, they do really great work. If i tell them this will have fitment issues, they'll make sure once they are done that it will look like a jdm or better.

because for $400 bucks i can have a clutch install, its a lot of money for an 18 year old.

I have heard the jdm bumper from Bayson R motorsports is an awesome buy!. Its a fiberglass-urethane mix. Its not as flexible as the oem rear, buts its not true hard fiberglass. I have heard no major fitment issues with it.

AS far as paint goes, bumpers on cars NEVER match! Unless the bumpers are sprayed on/with the car, it wont match. But any good painter, does not spray the bumpers on the cars. You need to get around all the edges and everything.

I will go ebay jdm rear when I pick up another evo. I bet no one will be able to tell the difference!

My minds not set...

Im leaning toward the ebay replica...

But if i here jdm is better in ___ and ____ oh and .... ____ then i'd get the jdm. but as of right now. It seems like most of you guys are paying for the bragging rights... "yeah i have a jdm, straight up from japan!" and you want your friends to go "ooooooo" someone please tell me its not all about the bragging factor.

Right. OEM fit and finish has nothing to do with it.

were not paying for bragging rights.... it's not like the JDM rear is some special rear bumper made out of carbon fiber, hand made, and there are hidden diamonds in it. PPL get the JDM rear because it's authentic and has 100% fitment and proven to work.

So if you get your ebay rear and get it painted and put on are you going to tell your friends it's a JDM rear?

I've been looking into this too as of late.

It seems that your looking at cheaper materials and lower quality fitment for sure.

The ebay one has really high shipping costs too so once you add in paint and possible alterations, I think the real deal JDM gets the edge.

I'll try to find one used...

most jdm ones are perfect fit and already painted to the car color, worst case you just have to buff a little, but the money you save in trying to fit it and then painting, its worth it.

JDM, only cause somethings are worth the extra money for perfect fitment without modifications.
