well all I know is from myself, my best friend with an STI, another great friend with an evo and most people on this forum.

Im really not trying to start an argument but when its 15-20 degree's and there is an inch of snow on the ground the stock advans are not very forgiving..... yes I could drive but at a snails pace, and once you put on snow tires on the evo and sti - the thing is nutz, not sure how you or anyone else can really deny that.

im not some 16-17 year old who is trying to impress anyone by driving an evo in the snow with pure summer tires... im 30 years old and have been driving in this crap for 14 years

I grew up in the snow.... its a safety factor and if anyone is really telling me that pure summer tires are safer or just as safe as a evo with all seasons or pure winter tires - they are on crack.....

I didnt get any tires since someone decided to steal my bumper.
I got around fine in over a foot of snow the other day though when I was going to the mall on the small streets and then the highway was slight slush but mostly dry so I was fine on there aswell.
I guess just want used to this. Considering its my first winter with an AWD sports car.

Last 2 winters my Z and 335i just stayed in the garage ^_^

I am by no means saying that an Evo with summer tires would be safer than with winter tires. I'm merely saying that what you said about driving in 1-2" of snow is a bit of an exaggeration. I didn't have to drive at a snails pace. I was fine. I'm sure it would've been even better with snow tires, but then again, it's not just going to go flying off the road either.

This is my 5th year driving in the snow in an AWD car. 4 with a GSX and my first with an EVO. All that driving has been in Kumho all seasons and I've never gotten stuck. You should never drive in snow in anything other than all seasons or snow tires.

And dont give me the prepare for the futur bs bud, because not everyone wants to waste 600-700 on new tires for the "future" when they have bills and utilities to pay, along with other projects that dont even run to fix.

Or, if you're like me, you live in an area where snow isn't always a guarantee. Even though this winter is already shaping up to be a rough one, there are some years that go by where we only get an inch or so.

It's not just the snow, it's also the temperature. Summer tires below 40 degrees suck. Might as well be prepared, it's just not worth it to risk it .

you know what is a ROFL those SUVs with some twenties riding around in the winter time.
I just throw all season tires on my EVO, i'll definitely be getting some snow tires next winter b/'c i'm getting to old for this winter DD.

BTW my next door neighboor has an evo x mr and that dumb bastard drives it around on summer tires but he is 17 years old so its understandable.
