Nah I'm not talking about Embry Riddle. What do you mean by lack of funds for mechanical engineering? I have noticed that there are a ton of scholarships being offered for civil engineers and very few for mechanical.

I go to ERAU now and all progress and work on my car has completely ceased. I won't be selling it so I can't complain really.
And as for your original question, if it means school, sell the Evo if you have to. School is an investment, Evos are money pits. Get out now while you can!!

I'm +1 on the "do not get a VW." I had a friend with an Audi A4, and that thing would break down all the time. Valve cover gasket, timing chain gasket, fuel filters, etc. A lot of problems. All of it can be remedied if you pay close attention to it and get ahead of the problem, but it's easier said than done if you're going to school full-time and don't have much time to devote to it.
I say get what I drive. RSX-S are fun to drive even stock, and they are pretty cheap if you get an '02. Great mileage, and they are very reliable cars too.

Well right now I'm exploring another option of taking some 401k money out to pay down the loan. After I have paid it down a little I will look into refinancing it to get my payments to something ill be able to handle. 150/month range
Wish me luck.
