Strange Clunking Noise from Front Left Wheel Area

Okay, I'm not much of a car guy other than doing my own oil changes and brakes, it pretty much ends there... So I'm lost when it comes to Shocks & Struts etc..

I took a trip to Big Bear yesterday and on the way there I hit what I think was a Tire in the road at about 80mph. It was 4:45 in the morning and really dark. I didn't think much of it until I began hearing a hollow clunk occassionally from the front left side of the car near the front wheel.

I'm not sure if I messed up my struts or suspension in some way by hitting what I think was a tire but it could of been something else. It's the only thing I can think off that would have messed up my suspension.

The best way I can describe the sound is when I'm turning right and I hit a small bump, it sounds like someone is hitting the bottom of the car with a hammer.

I'm gonna take it in the Dealer ASAP, just though I'd throw it out there to see if anybody had an ideas based on experience... Oh yeah, It's an EVO8 with 36,000 miles on it. Thanks.

Check your lug nuts too. If they are loose, could create some noise while driving as well.
