Who warms up their cars bef....

Was just wondering, who warms up their car before driving it? Or who just takes off after starting their engine?

^^^ Same here.Compustar.I like to warm the engine up at least 5 minutes or so before driving it. It feels different when you drive it without the warm up procedure. runs crazy!

Hey whats up man! Autostart aka remote start. Starting your car with a pager alarm basically, I have a viper 7900 and i autostart it EVERYWHERE i go! lol its just convenient. It sucks in the morning though because when i autostart it and finally run out to open the garage it, it smells so freaking bad i know im killing brain smells smelling it haha.

They are pretty cheap. I found a 5900 with 1 mile range for 170 bucks http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...furbished.html

Thats almost identical to the one i have. installation is easy too but you have to find a a stereo shop thats willing to install the unit and bypass your clutch (for remote start because it is needed when you put it in a manual car) Let me tell u this though! Me and my buddies have tried remote starting it in gear, with the E Brake on, and the car didnt even start. Thennnn we tried it again with it in gear and E Brake left OFF (god forbid, but if you are dumb enough to make that mistake you deserve it lol) and the car still didnt want to run. So i say its pretty safe to have remote start on an evo. Im thinking because of the AWD it puts a strain on the motor trying to start while in gear. Good luck!

I always let mine run at least 5 minutes before taking off, especially this time of year. Otherwise I have a very stiff gas pedal and awkward shifting.

I didn't know that you could put one on a manual at all. you generally need a security bypass as well that will allow the car to start without the chipped key.

I usually let mine warm up for at least ~5 minutes each morning and on my way home from work. I know this sounds odd but it seems like I get a tad better mpg as well. Could just be a hallucination or something.

I let my car warm up an average of about 5min in the morning before I start driving it. If I'm in a hurry I'll at least wait for my A/F to smooth out and the idle to come down.
