auto-off headlamps not turning off?
Ok, as of a few months ago I noticed the auto-off feature of the headlamps doesn't usually work anymore. I've tested it ~10 times and it's only shut off ~once. I would know more but the car was in the bodyshop for the last month. I can't remember if it was doing this before the car was hit two months ago but would think they're not related.
I have read the phantom electrical problem threads about sealing the grommet behind the driver's wheel and have done that, but I haven't checked the connectors in the interior foot area yet so I'll do that next.
Anyone else have this issue or ideas?

Automatic headlights is something that can be selected or deselected by the driver and this can happen inadvertently if you stumble onto the proper sequence.
As I remember you pull the headlight switch as if you are flashing to pass, put on the right turn signal and turn on the headlights. At that point you get some beeps that signal the computer is cycling through the options. If this doesn't work, look in your owner's manual.

No turbo timer.
BarneyB: the auto-off feature does work sometimes- i tried it the other nite and it worked, so it's an intermittant problem at this point; this makes me wonder if it's related to the harness connector corossion issues that others have had. My car hasn't been in the rain that much but I guess anything is possible. It's not related to what you mentioned but I did read up on that. From what I understood from the owners manual, what you're talking about will allow you to leave the lights on indefinitely with keys in and engine off where it normally will shut them off to save your battery; but, if you remove keys and get out of the car it will still shut them off. Either way, it's something else.
Thanks for the replies. I'll continue to monitor it and also check the wiring harness connectors in the driver's footwell.
