Sold Exxon stock - Time to mod >:)
Hey guys,
I got some cash at the start of the new year and I'm looking for some advice on what to get for my stock 2003 Evo 8. Except for the fact that I have a JGT turbo back exhaust and a K&N drop in Air filter, nothing much. I'm looking to improve the performance of the car significantly but I don't want to go ***** to the wall. Here is some of the things I'd like to get.
Gauges - Air / Fuel Ratio - Boost gauge and Oil Temp
Electronic Boost controller
Up pipe on the exhaust - havent found one online, do I have to buy the whole kit?
Replacing the lower intercooler tubing (Saw it in the modding for noobs thread)
New Fuel pump
Any thoughts? Or suggestions?
Thanks!

Warlboro, Cams and a tune will wake your car up significantly.
When you say "up pipe" I'm assuming you mean "down pipe". Evos do not have up pipes like Subarus do. If you have a TBE you already have a new DP so...
Skip the EBC and lower IC piping. Gauges...get what you want but, if you use a logger tool you probably don't "need" them.

how much do you have to spend is the real question but as everyone stated
boost guage
MBC
Walbro
Cams
Tune
Port some parts out(intake exhaust manifold T/b)
3.5 intercooler
Aps twin vent bov
upgrade to evo 9 turbo if money is limited for now
lots of good stuff just need to know the budget

I hope you were talking about a wideband when you said A/F gauge. If not, and you were talking about narrowband, don't even waste your money. I don't know why people are telling you don't get a LICP, but it will help. Why would you get a big FMIC, and keep the restrictive piping?
The "Modding for Dummies" thread is great to go with when you're on a budget. Just make sure you do the "basic" mods before you start worrying about bigger stuff or you'll just be robbing yourself in the long run.
