"Electronic Reset" by Mitsubishi ??

I needed an ABS sensor to be replaced as well as my clockspring which set of the SRS warning light. Mitsubishis has on the write up "electronic reset"

My car is tuned for 30psi and when I went to check the car at the dealer after they took it for a test drive, I checked my boost gauge recall feature because it records the last maximum boost hit and it was exactly at 19psi (which is stock boost on the evos, correct??)

Is it just a coincidence that the test driver didnt beat my car and happened to hit exactly 19psi...or did this electronic reset also wipe out my tune on the ecu and set everything back to stock? Im nervous to drive the car as normal. I figure Ill ask here before I ask the dealership and flip out on them for wiping the ecu when that wasnt needed or asked for. They know the car is out of warranty and is not stock.

unless they physically reflashed the ecu then no the abs reset should have had no effect

what kind of boost control are you running? ecu controled? manual, ebc? I would do a quick check to see (if EBC) if they turned off the controler. If running ecu controled boost quickly romp on it to see if it passes 19 psi. However chances are that they did flash it back to stock.

The best thing to do if you can is (if you have ecuflash) pull your map and check it out.
or have your tuner check it for you.

Ya its set on an MBC...which should still allow the boost to reach 30psi, regardless of the tune correct??

The previous owner of the car tuned it, awesome tune too for being an amateur tune.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a fresh (professional) tune done. If there are not any local shops to meet your needs I suggest English Racing.

Sean Ivey is also in NJ and is supposed to be real good, Not saying STM is not just giving more options.

Either STM. Or make a trip down to NY and let E-spec tune your evo. It will be worth your time.

Word thanks guys, ya I know Ivey is only about 35 mins from me. I just love everything Ive seen thats come from STM. Cant exactly argue quickest/fastest stock block Evo on the planet either lol. Ive planned on going to them anyway when I do an FP black on stock block in the summer.

Have you driven the car yet? I'm assuming you have and you know it only hits 19psi yourself. I imagine the only way your car would be back down to stock boost level is if they removed the MBC and hooked back up the factory EBC. If the MBC is still hooked up and untampered, it should be pushing the same boost I think.

Yes Ive yet to drive the car myself, its still at Mitsubishi its not done yet. I just kinda wanted to know what I was getting into, before I get in my car and floor it out of the place and bam something performs an epic fail from being too lean. I just found it odd that the gauge showed a max of 19psi and that also happens to be factory boost.

I wouldn;t be too worried until you get back in it. I think when I usually look at my boost gauge while driving I may see 12-15psi during freeway passing in 5th/6th gear. I don't think I've seen 19 psi under part throttle though so I'm not 100% sure in you case. Maybe someone else can chime in if they see 19psi at part/mid throttle (most likely in top gear on freeway too).

Shouldn't they be liable for flashing your ecu to stock? Thats if you told them you were tuned...?

Ya thats what Im kind of thinking?? Im sure theyd be able to worm out of it but yes they do know the car is not stock and is not on the stock tune. I dont see why theyd do something that would reset the ECU when the ECU was never part of the problem. I didnt bring the car to them for any fuel problems or any ecu related problem. It was ABS sensor, clockspring, clear the SRS code and thats all.
