I think you need to go and look at the physics here.

Having any bars in the driver area (6pt+) is not safe. In a t-bone, you will impact those metal bars. Metal > bone/flesh.

i was wondering about this. ive seen how evos crumble under impact. how are the cages designed for impact(or is that not the case their designed to make the car more rigid)

pretty much if someone gets t-boned w/o a cage okay the door is whats my threat at that point. now if that car had cage is that going to bend and take the blow. or is going to rip out and destroy the a pillar and c pillar and just be a mess

Makes sense, all except the harder to mod part. I was unaware they were harder to mod, and from what I've read they don't sound any harder to mod.

I have a DD and I have a 10 sec cage and I drive it around with people in the back seat no problem flame on!

No flames. That's your own choice. Just like drinking and driving or jumping off a bridge or not wearing safety goggles while doing wood work/metal work.
