Motor Question

Im Looking at a evo 8 it has an upgraded gt35 turbo kit and a couple supporting mods . I was just wondering what you guys have to say about the motor and if its strong enough to hold a whopping 28psi hes pushing,It has :
Buschur 780cc injectors
Walbro 255LPH fuel pump
Crower 282 cams
Crower valve springs and retainers
ARP head studs
Cometic head gasket
HKS cam gears

and btw the car has 60000 miles on it but everything was done about 15k miles ago

I have a similar setup and have had it this was since the car had around 15K on it and now it has 90K on it. 28psi on a gt35r is fairly mild. Assuming it has been running a good enough fuel and tune, you shouldn't have any issue, but that is a big assumption unfortunately. I always have run my car on race fuel or e85 on anything over around 22psi. Having said that, there are people out there running 30psi on 93octane. Not sure how they don't get tons of knock, but they are out there.

It is a hit or miss really. Like said above, alot depends on the tune and if it ever had any issues before hand that you are not aware of. Many people are able to run 25-28psi on a stock block, but they have had their tune carefully adjusted to do so.

Compression and leakdown tests. Even then it isn't fullproof.
