i would have to say probably the real noticeable difference would be fitment...but then again, nowadays non-authentic parts can fit as well with good craftsmanship

The cost it takes to paint a replica JDM Rear will almost be the cost of a prepainted OEM JDM rear so why not just fork over the extra cash otherwise I'd wait.

LOL the most expensive jdm rear is the BBY JDM REAR so some people might consider the replica if fitment is not terrible because of this fact. Mine is real i rather have every perfect the first time lol. BTW To answer a earlier question this is how your install the rear MY GUIDE FOR IT GOT STICKIED PLENTY OF PICS

The JDM Rear Bumpers had been brought in with the original Mitsu boxes. To cut back on shipping costs, we ditched the boxes to fit more bumpers in one container. You can expect to find with each order the bumper wrapped in Mitsu-bubble wrap, along with the part numbers stamped on the packaging. There will be part numbers and stickers listed along the inside of each bumper as well.

i say just tap your bumper and see what material it's made from. unless it's poly urethene, it's probably fake. the real ones are way more durable and that's what matters to me. YES you can make it fit, but what happens if someone accidentally love taps you from the back. a pushed in bumper is always much easier to fix than a cracked one.
