Hood Vent question for guys up north

Currently I am stationed in Pensacola,Fl and run my car with the vent removed and just the mesh in the hood. I will be in Norfolk,VA in a month and it is snowing its *** off up there. I am pretty sure I need to put the vent back in to keep as much snow out as possible due to not having a garage up there to keep the car in.

I wanted to hear the opinons of the guys that live up north and deal with snow all the time. I like being able to see in the hood but not at the cost of damage to my motor.

Thanks

No vent on mine just the mesh on my CF hood and before that had the vent off and just the mesh on the OEM. 5 NE winters and car isnt garaged no issues here.

You'll be fine trust me. The water coming in will not damage your motor LOL

Snow is water no??. Plus the snow piling on the vent is just going to fall straight down.

As everyone has said, you will be fine. I enjoy watching the heat carve its way through the snow when the hood has a nice layer on it.

i'd put the vent back on if you can. doesnt spell disaster if you run vent-less but i prefer it. reduces direct water downpour onto the manifold and helps with heat extraction at speed. also prevents bird crap from dropping straight onto your engine bay.

mesh (noun)
-Any of the open spaces in a net or network; an interstice.
-The cords, threads, or wires surrounding these spaces. Often used in the plural.

The manifold is hot enough that it heats the engine compartment that you dont have to worry about snow in there... overnight it sits but let it warm up a minute before you drive it.... Its alll good!

keeps your motor cooler if snow falls on your manifold, and as we all know, colder air = denser air == more powarzzzzz

Just for the sake of being safe, I'd just put the Mesh for the hood back on. Play it safe.
