On the other hand, something tells me that the RS will be the true collector evo, even more than the MR.

So does anyone know when roughly we might see the first '05 RS here? Would you guys exoect it to arrive around the same time the MR does? Oh and agoin the MSRP is going to be the same as the '04 or do you think it'll go up like the 04 evo gsr did?

The 05 will likely cost more than the 04. The ACD, aluminum roof, etc. cost more money to produce. I'd expect the price to go up $500-$1000.

I am very interested in knowing the weight of the 05 Rs vs the 04. The ad for the MR states that Mitsu saved 300 lbs just by using the Alloy roof and forged wheels. wheels only save about 10 lbs so does this mean the 05 RS will be about 250lbs less than a 04? this car would be wickedly quick. hence wicked white. looks like a RS with the MR wheels is for me.

The 300 lb weight savings has been discussed numerous times before in many threads, and it has been proven to be false. The actual weight savings is much less. Sorry, I can't recall the numbers, but perhaps you can search for the vehicle weights. Think about it, you probably won't save 300 lbs if you entirely removed all four wheels, tires and roof, much less replace them with fractionally lighter components.

Try about 30 lbs lighter.

It did seem hard to believe, I see the MR weight listed at 3085lbs in a Road & Track article. I believe that is less than the current RS. after taking a second look.

Curb weight: 3085 lb

Test weight: 3280 lb

whatever that means.

They're wrong. It's a dry weight quote vs wet weight (i.e., quoting different curb weight standards). Trust us when we say its only about 30 lbs lighter. The RS is always the lightweight of all the models.

I love my RS, no matter what it weighs. I am gonna install a radio though, the little amount of weight that adds is worth it, so I can listen to the traffic reports here in L.A. and avoid traffic jams that make the EVO frustrating to sit in.

700 04 RS's. The dealership told me the number of white RS EVOs was much lower then red, somewhere around 250, not sure if its true. Love mine to death, threw in a radio and now I'm on the long road to mucho power. I can live without power anything, a wing, ABS and sound deadening anyday, AC is all I need! I dont know about you other RS owners, but really, I dont think the ride is all that loud sans-sound material. My 2 friends Suby 2.5RS's that were stripped of deadening sounds MUCH louder on the inside.

I have been hearing lots of different sides on this issue , so I am just going to go ahead and put the question out there and hope that I get an answer from someone who knows what's going on --- For the new 2005 Rs, is there an option to add power windows, locks, mirrors, etc. & what is the estimated price? I have heard that last year's model had an "Urban Jungle Package" from some reliable sources & I have also heard that Mitsu definitely did not offer a package like that ! I know that A/C is now standard & I don't need a stereo (putting one in myself).
Thanks in advance

Did the 05 RS actually gain weight? Mitsu website has it listed as 3197 lbs curb weight. 04 RS was listed at 3175 lbs.
