I didn't mean ams. I went to a tuner and was told a price over the phone then once I brought the car in. Then he tried to up the price cause it took him longer than he wanted.

Tune sucked ***. he pretty much tuned for wot and that was it.

The evo is going to ams

+1

Shoot EVOparts-R-US a pm. I'm pretty sure they're still parting out their evo 8...GL

First off, you are "sitting at AMS while they are tuning your car". It's pretty clear that you aren't doing any tuning.

2. You just wasted whatever the cost of their tuning is over the cost of a base flash, congratulations.

3. You could have still made more power with that $ you threw away by putting a better BOV, 3 port BCS, MBC, or any number of things on the car. Double congratulations.

Knowledge is power!

I doubt it. I made 301whp with there base flash, tbe, mbc at 21psi, walbro pump, evo 9 bov, cone filter, lower I/C pipe and o2 housing.

Obviously I wasn't doing any tuning due to my MAF going to ****. The car wasn't tuned what so ever, so the $395 was not even spent. Also, I needed a MBC and the IX BOV because I wanted to up the boost and not encounter any leaks. Basically, I got shafted out of a tune because of my MAF. I wouldn't mind a simple flash, but I would rather know how much power I'm making on the dyno. I don't mind spending the money because I would like a quality job done.

Now that you have a mbc, you will top 300 easily. With essentially the same mods as you (tbe, intake, mbc), Chris tuned my evo to 320 whp at 23 psi (even with a HFC and Tanabe medallion exhaust, which is less than 3").

Make sure to post the dyno sheet when they're done.

You'll love the difference in power. Good luck.

I think he misunderstood gambles question. The BOV and MBC alone are far more than that.

His barometric pressure circuit was shorting the 5 volt reference to ground and causing every sensor that works off the 5v to throw circuit short codes.

Believe it or not, near stock Evo's are rather uncommon around here. We have no new or used Evo mafs laying around and out of respect we generally don't partake in "borrowing" parts of customers cars that are here.
