called a ricer?

Its the one thing that gets to me. People who don't understand cars at all and as soon as they see an evo, its automatically rice.

Like today, I was minding my own business on EvoM, looking at some photoshoot pics of other members evo's and the guy next to me said "why the hell are you looking at little rice burners?". If someone is just playing around, I don't care at all. I'll even call evo's rice now and then as a joke. But this guy was serious and I nicely tried explaining the AWD and how its not a civic, etc. He kept talking ****.

But anyways, done with my rant. Anyone else have stories?

y do you care?? Thats the question i have for you. Peoples opinions are theres. You could have a Z06 and people call it crap and overpriced. Who cares the word ricer is suppose to imply anything not domestic if its not american muscle its rice period. SO i dont care if your evo looks stock and 1000whp its still considered rice by the correct terminology but again you carefully invite him to a track then you carefully race him and once you beat him ask him if he wants soy sauce as you left a dry taste in his mouth

Haha I don't have self esteem issues. I <3 my evo a lot and people calling it rice doesn't make me wish I had something else. Its just I don't like being classified with the people who are "ricers"

 

dont get it twisted hommie i did not say you have self esteem issues i said dont let others dictate your mood. again the word ricer has lost all its meaning. it went from imports to hondas only to body kits to cars that are all show and no go. Who has time to even sit there and care. If they call it rice say cool glad thats your opinion and leave it at that. at the end of the day they know its a evo and what it can do they know they would not want to run you so there only defense is call it a junk car. again opinions you get called rice i always have people trying to run me and reving there engines wanting to see if a evo is as fast as they say it is constantly on my end lol.

 

I tell them that my "rice" would smoke any car they got in their driveway. I usually get a comment like oh you couldn't take a V-8 blah blah. Then we go through the specs and it's I've got X amount of hp and your car is rated at blah blah. Usually ends with them geting next to me on the way home from work or going somewhere and getting smoked. Then all the sudden you get the, "that little car is fast, what do you have done to it?" Same song and dance buddy. I know what you mean though it is annoying.

 

ya it irritates me as well, especially people with all rusted up civic and trans ams and blah blah, but i guess we gotta try to look past it

 

yeah i just call it a ricer anyway...i dont care....but when my 400whp whoops dat ***...then i laugh and say, "you got beat by a ricer"

 

I can see where it comes from with the big wing on the back, it's loud, ect...I am big into cars so I know what has potential, but most of these older guys with the older V-8s don't know about these new cars.

 

if someone calls you a ricer just let your car do the shi# talking back

 

I've been called rice before to which (in the situation I was in) I replied: "It will smoke daddy's Mustang..." or "It will smoke daddy's BMW"

 

Its good to know I'm not the only one in this situation. I thought it might have been because all the lambo's and ferrari's in Vegas that when they see something other than those and foreign its automatically rice. I also feel like need to wait before saying its faster than anything they have. Mine definitely isn't stock, but there's plenty of things that are much faster. After a few things go through, then I'll start having a "evo wins" kind of response haha

I drive a volkswagen and have had people make ricer comments before now thats annoying...its not even a Japanese car ignorant ****s

 

Meh, I just ask them where they rented their Mustang from.

 

I love when someone calls my car rice........I politely tell them that my rice with $#!T all over any POS in their driveway.
