Hello all,
I am in an interesting position in that my Evo VII starter is damaged and there are 3 different starter part numbers in the US and only 1 for the European Evo's (like mine). Unfortunately my part number doesn't match and I can't get the same starter here. So... I am assuming an Evo VIII starter will work fine, but I wanted to check to see if it works on the IX as well. This would give me greater confidence that it is interchangable between all years. Transmission cases and flywheels are all the same right? They should all work on any Evo right? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!

yup i put an viii starter on my ix and they are identical.

Awesome, thank you! The weird thing is the IX starter is like $400+ vs an VIII which is like $150ish

Future reference, Evo VIII starter works fine on an Evo VII, but is a little bit smaller in size.
