That is no good! See if you can buy it back from the insurance company once it is totaled. Go buy another evo and put ALL the stuff off of your current and sell the totaled car for the cost it took to buy it from the insurance company. I think that's what I would do. Hope this helps.

+1 many people check forums to make sure that guys arent trying to scam them. I would say edit your post and close the thread cause this is some what illegal what you want to do.

been there, done that. I would not even think twice about not totaling it/buying it back!!!!

Just take your loss on parts and get another evo. There are some huge deals nowadays on some 8s and 9s.

Buy the car back and sell it to someone willing to get it back on the road. There are body guys and mechanics who know exactly what to do and have the means to get it titled again. Leave it up to them and don't scrap a perfectly good chassis and parts.

Flood water is fast moving water meaning it is full of silt. You will find mud inside of places were you didn't know you had places. Let it go.

Dry it out, atleast the motor wasnt in it so you dont have to change the oil, sank my yota a couple times in the creek drained the gas pulled the plugs turned it over to get the water out of cylinders, changed the fluids and still mobbin. as long as electronics dont have electricity to them they will dry and work. People give up to easy,

There is nothing wrong with having the insurance total the vehicle and then buy it back but if you are trying to scam them by putting a junk motor or whatsoever in and not letting them know about it, it would be considered illegal and you could get in trouble with that. GL and sorry to hear about your sad story.

While I agree to an extent that if there was no power applied then as long as all the electronics are dry they should work, however there are tons of relays which are electro mechanical and can and will rust inside, this will be the downfall of the flooding...

yea just get it totalled and buy it back, gap should cover you but your going to have to come up witht the rest.. re registering it is going to be a PITA if you total it out though.. but if you decide to buy another evo then you can use your car for spares
