engine noise

Hey, I just got an 05 evo and have been hearing some whining whenever i push on the gas. It doesn't sound like the death whine, but it sure is constant and annoying. Anything i can do to stop this? I can take a video tomorrow while driving, so you can hear it too if I didn't explain well enough lol. thanks.

take it to a shop and get a 2nd opinion. This can only be fixed by someone with a scope and good ear. Probably a pulley getting worn.

^ at idle???? again at low rpms your trubo is spooling, if you hear the sound at idle, then yes, it's prob a pulley or something

Might be your TOB.. Pull the inspection plug and see if that thing is wobbling around.

its nothing to worry about, if it bothers you just replace your serpentine belt. its coming from that. my car has been doing it for a while and i have low miles on my car too.

its not the turbo spooling, i never heard anyone describe a turbo sound as a whine.....
stop misinforming people
