High HP/High Rev 2.3 or 2.4...anyone have results?

Ok, I've seen some 2.3 and 2.4 builds but I want to know has anyone built a reliable high HP/high rev combo that has been max tuned like the numerous 2.0's out there? When I say max tuned I mean 38+ psi and 8000+ rpms making over 700 hp and the beautiful torque that these naturally make. When I say reliable, I mean not dyno queens. I'm more interested in daily drivers that have held together for a while. I know about Dave Buschur's attempt that his customer basically detuned. I know about AWD's Bastard drag setup. I know about the 93 octane torque machines out there. Not really interested in the temporary drag experiments. Tell me about the fully built 40 psi monsters that are roaming the streets and the permanent smiles on the owners faces.

AMS 2.3RR - used mostly for road racing applications, but will rev out to over 8000 rpm no problems.

I'm curently building a Long Rod 10:1 MIVEC 2.4L. This combo will have no problem reving over 8k and I have an end goal of 700hp. Call up Marti at SBR. He has had many 2.4s in that horsepower range and they seem to be holding up great! 2.4L FTW

I couldn't be happier with my combination, the standard rod 2.4 is working out nicely.

My rev limiter is set at 8000, however the FPBlack is starting to run out of breath at those higher revs so I usually shift before hitting the limiter.

the only things I don't like/regret

The JE pistons make a lot of noise at 6 thou clearance.
I should have went with a custom set of higher compression pistons.

I thrash on the car daily; it is truely a daily driver! I do the daily bump&grind in Seattle traffic to get back and forth to work.

John, I really think you should get an 02 dump. I honestly think you will make 40-50hp at the same boost level and your Black won't fall off till over 8k. I am hands down for dumps. Our cars are very simular and I'm interested to see what I put down on my Red vs. your Black.

I believe I may be getting a Black after my dyno. I'm really wanting 650+ and I think the Black would be great!

Are you 86.5mm or 87mm?

I ran around all summer long at 44psi+ max 49psi and I can tell you this the turbo's can't handle it they destroy them selfs. I had a long list of destroyed turbo's for running like that. I currently run at 30psi 620awhp with no major problem running strong. I'm very happy with the way I put my car together it get's the job done everytime

Oh yea my rev limiter is set at 8500rpm.

Good luck to you Evo8Emperor. I think the only way I'm going to get the answers I want will be to build it myself.

I will have my FP Red MIVEC 10:1 LR2.4 E85 motor done in a week or two and will be posting up my results. Start looking next Monday on the Dyno threads I plan to push the turbo to the limit, so we will see what happens but I don't expect to be less than 600hp.
