Evolution 8 Problem Troubleshooting

Good Day Folks,

Got a problem with my evolution and I dont even know where to start.

The problem goes like this:

On driving off from a stationary position, the car would jerk. This happens in both forward and reverse. The rpm drops and the engine seems to want to die off.

In my effort to investigate further, I put the car on 1st gear and raise my foot slightly off the cluth to induce movement without giving any gas. Doing this, I can hear clangs coming from under the car, and the car jerks ferociously as though the hand brake is up or something of the sort.

Apart from that, when the car is up to a suitable running speed, it runs smoothly

Has anyone experienced anything as such?

Regards
Frustrated Evo Owner

Is your BOV recirculated or VTA? If VTA that is most likely your problem. The initial taking off is opening it up and acting as a huge vacuum leak making your car stumble. If your bov is recirculated, tell us about the rest of your setup to better be able to analyse what is going on.

the BOV is VTA... the car is basically stock.

I want to believe that the problem is clutch/gearbox related, but i can't put my finger on exactly what it is

listen to these guys and put the stock bov or a recirculated bov back on the car and recheck.
