Drove a 750 WHP Evo today... Wow!
I'm trying to make up my mind on what turbo to get and "Rodent" let me take his 750 WHP Evo 8 for a quick spin today. He has a built 2.0L with the Full-Race 3586 HTA setup on it. Boy, once your at about 5k RPM's, the beast comes to life! Wow, the power was unreal! It pulls so damn hard! I think that might be a little over kill for a street car but I only got on it about half a dozen times. With having goals of 600/600, I know this turbo could easily get me there!
Once again, I would like to say thanks to Shawn for letting me drive your beast!

I would go with a fp black. 6262 is nice and could easily get you there but much more lag compare to the black. This goes for hta35r as well this is coming from me who's had a hta35r and went to a fp black on ported stock mani. Love it wish I would of save the money I wasted on the hta35r and the kit.

Yes. Not quite sure why that would happen unless they were seeing some crazy revs.. It is all in how you build it. If you are going for something with crazy fast spool, or once the spool hits it is start to full spool in less than 1,000 rpms you should consider I-beam rods. That and also if you are going over a certain HP/TQ limit. A 2.2L should be extremely stout though, capable of handling most anything you can throw at it on the street. I would do some research into that, either the builder or the installer who put things together.

Glad you enjoyed the car Dennis! BTW- The old coppers fixed that issue.
People also have to remember we're at 5800 feet here in Denver. The turbo's have to spin SO much more just to make decent boost. My 3586HTA tapers from 35 to 31 psi which really sucks. FP black will do the same thing. I'm so jealous when I see many here push their 3586 to 40psi and it holds it all the way to redline. Keep in mind I also have larger Kelford 280/280 cams, 4" FMIC, Magnus intake, 75mm TB and 3" UICP. With smaller cams and piping, you'd see better spool.
Mine- 3586HTA, 2.0, ported head, Kelford 280 cams, 35psi
(having some spark blow out after 8k)
Same setup on a dynojet with a high CF:

Mario's- FP Black, 2.3, ported head, Kelford 272 cams, 36psi
You may want to talk to Lucas about the Black. I know he wasn't that happy with it on his black Evo.
