I am a 3000-mile man, but my Ex... I recall her asking me, approximately a year and a half after she got her car (used), "when am I supposed to start doing oil changes"... my thoughts, "prior to the car firing out black smoke"... hahaha! ridiculous...

You guys changing your oil every 3k crack me up.

I try to change mine every 5k, but no sooner. I've waited up to 8500 miles before as well.

I do trans, tc and diff every other oil change or 10k.

My evo is a track ***** so it needs the consistent fluid changes.

4k - AMSOIL for me

From their site

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx

"SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically sound(2) gasoline fueled vehicles as follows:

• Normal Service(3) – Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

• Severe Service(4) – Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first."

I wouldn't go close to the long, but 3-5k seems to be a fine interval.
