As I continue to rebuild my 06 SSL, I noticed the "service engine soon" light on. Dah!!!! when I bought the car, it only came with a down pipe. So I purchased a complete exhaust from Ebay . What a newbie mistake. Then I discovered this forum and looked through the vendor section and purchased a XS cat back. Much better but I forgot the O2 sensor. So my ? is - the "service engine soon" light will stay on with no sensors or bad sensors? correct? If I need sensors? where's the best place to get those?

do you have the rear o2 in working condition? if you do just do the spark plug nonfouler fix there you go no light. Or you could have your tuner turn that code off in the ecu unless you need it to pass inspection.

first get it scanned at a local autozone, they will tell you the exact problem..
then from there you can determine if its the sensor or the testpipe!
look around for the sensors if you need one, autozone wanted 150, I found one at a local shop for 80

Thanks to Tommy and his crew at Racing Greed, they were able to diagnose and resolve the "check engine". The O2 sensor in front was bad, and the car was running around 24lbs boost.
Now its tuned down to 14lbs. Is that good? I just want it to run stock for now as I work out all the kinks. Gotta replace that damn suspension next. The struts are so bad driving over small pot holes.

14lbs? That's no-where near stock boost. Then again if you bought the car used and don't have any idea what's going on mechanically it's hard to tell. You should really check the tune with a tactrix or at a shop.

English Racing is out that way. Id say the best shop in that part of the country as far as I know.
