Oil leak need help---------

Well my car has been leaking oil, and from what I could see when i got under the car, was the oil pan gasket. Im wondering if it could of been caused by crank case pressure. I think this because I have to zip tie my dipstick in or it shoots out. any imput would be helpful, thanks

RTV - it seals perfectly for a few years but in the end it always leaks.

Take the entire pan off and use a small amount. Use a new gasket also. If you have blow by that's bad enough to cause an oil pan leak, you may need to get it fixed. Try running it with a catch can on the oil dipstick and see if it stops leaking.

Yeah, you will have to pull the pan and re-dope it. Nothing else will work.

Before you start, look things over closely. Chasing a leak, I once pulled the pan off an engine only to then discover the leak was from the valve cover. So, I had done considerable work for nothing.

Well for anyone that checks this it turned out to be a drain plug issue not the pan. I bought a new plug with a rubber gasket and it took care of the problem

put a big piece of cardboard under ure car for the night and see a general location where the leak is coming from. are you sure it is coming from the oil pan?
