3 acd lights
#31
My experience.. this may help.
Just had all three of my ACD lights come on this past Monday. My car sat all weekend, and on my way to work monday afternoon (only live 10 mins. from work and it's basically on the same street I live on, so little turning is required) it was very hot here, so it was the very first time all year.. actually since last year I turned the A/C on and when I did I then noticed all 3 of the ACD lights were on. I don't know if it was just turning on the A/C made something bug out for a second, but I highly doubted it. I know from experience that my ACD lights have came on before just because the fluid was low, I checked the fluid and everything was fine on all of the fluids in the car before I left work. On my way home, I started the car up and only 1 light was on like normal so I thought cool it was just something silly. So I drove about 200ft or so and sure enough all 3 lights came on, and it has done the same thing to me all week long until today.
I got up early and took the car over to the dealership after getting a recommendation from Cisco at Strictly Modified to see his guy. So the dealership is about 20 miles away with somewhat curvy roads, (a lot more than what my car see's on a daily basis) and when I got about 5 mins. away I noticed that just my Tarmac light was on as it's supposed to be. So I informed the tech. about it being on and going off on the way over here, and he did the diagnostic on the car and it came back to be a ACD pump failure code..
Now this is what you guys really want to read!!
After learning that the pump was basically on it's last leg so to speak, because it's still working fine as it should. I asked realistically if all 3 ACD lights are on and I continued to drive it everyday will it hurt my car at all%Proxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
and he said NO. Because when all 3 ACD lights are on the system basically defaults back into Tarmac mode, which is what I was praying it would. Because if you think about it the ACD just distributes power incase of slippage of tires (gravel, snow) and as long as the t-case is not leaking it will be completely fine. You just won't have the enhanced driveability that the ACD provides in lower traction situations.
So hopefully that clears up any concerns for the guys with ACD lights on. Now if you have the ACD lights on with the ABS light on that can be something different.

might be too late to chime in, but the same thing happened to me when i had an aftermarket clutch and flywheel installed. I checked the acd fluid and it was almost out. So i just went to the stealership and bought some mitsu atf fluid(as it says on the cap). That fixed my problem.Hope this helps.

Check fluid levels, check the ground connection on the chassis by the battery, bleed the ACD lines using the pedal method with the ignition on but not started. Hopefully they will go away, if not, its either the pump wiring has corroded or its time for a new pump.

did some more reading on highboost forum and came across this
First test the pump in following manner:
Let the car sit over night. Try to make test in an closed, QUIET room or area.
Switch IGN on, DO NOT START, wait 5 seconds, Floor the throttle for 3 seconds.
The pump should start now. You should hear that the sound changes after 4-5 seconds ( pump built up pressure ) and should sound that the pump has to work harder.
after 10-12 seconds it should switch off, and the ACD lights will NOT lit ALL.
If this works like described, the pump is fine for COLD fluid, and pressure is built up.
If its doesn't change the sound, or all 3 Lights go on, or the pump is running 25 seconds before shutting off, there is no pressure built up and the Pump has an mechanical issue an has to be overhauled ( The pump should look White on the main aluminum Block due to Salt / Water corrosion.)
If the sound changes, but still running for 25 seconds and the light go on, its supposed to be the Sensor.
To check that, its the best to have an Mitsubishi MUT III diagnostic. You can read the pressure sensor values with the MUT III when the Pump running, and diagnostic its state.
anyone else agree mine kicks on for the 20 seconds or so then turns off then 3 lights come on , but while dirivng latly its been fine past 2 days

North Hills. If you ever need your car looked at take it up to Mike at Baierl Mitsu. He will do a great job and is the master at servicing the Evo. I hope you get your ACD problem fixed. Mine just started acting up, so I might be due for a new pump here.

i am south hillssp mitsu just said auttomatically it was pump without even looking figured my 60k warranty expired so they immediatley said pump, but i'd like to check out bairel i have haqrd good stuff. you can find pumps used for 350 ish so that beats 1600, car was cool till today on way home from gym 3 liughts again, then got home started car drove around block few times lights off again.. pump always turns on whne in on position i am thinking air bubble in system expanding and contracting due to temp changeslatly from 60's to high 80's
