p0335 crank no start after head install

ok so my timing belt snapped and the car jumped time and bent valves so i replaced the cylinder head and belts, and noticed the crank angles sensing blade was damaged when the belt napped and it then damaged the crank sensor. so i replaced both the sensing blade and crank sensor got everything together with new belts and proper timing and the car cranks but wont start and keeps throwing the same p0335 code. i checked the engine fuses in the engine compartment and theyre both getting 12v. im lost now and dont know where to go next for diagnosis. any input would be much appreciated

Are you sure that you didn't install the Cam position sensor 180* out? That would cause your car to not start

How do you know you reinstalled that one the same way, did you mark it? It physically is unbolted from the cam when you remove it, so unless you marked it I'm not sure how you'd know. They both throw the same code I do believe.

Well you don't have which type of Evo you working on listed, so I'm not sure whether we're talking about Mivec cam or not also. I was still referring to the cam position sensor located on the drivers side of the engine towards the front of the car.

If you threw a P0335 (Crankshaft Position Sensor) code, I would start looking there and stop looking at the cam position sensor.

Just a theory...

I do agree. Also, check to see if you have 12v, ground, and 5v at the connector to the crank sensor. If so, use a lab scope to see if you have a good square wave pattern coming from the crank sensor while the engine is cranking.

pull the pins out of the connector end that clips behind the valve cover, pay attention to the original orientation to avoid having to look up a diagram,... tape the 3 exposed pins together with a generous length of spare of wire or cable cause your going to pull it behind the power steering bracket and through the bottom of the car and need to have a way to retrieve it from up top...after you've retrieved the old sensor set-up the new one in the same manner with your cable still behind the bracket and gently nurse it back up top using the opposite end of the cable, reset the pins in the connector and your done, dont forget to release the yellow clip that mounts the sensor to the shield
