Engine harness quick disconnect

I plan to install an quick disconnect for the engine harness. I searched for this topic with no results. I plan to use some spare Mil spec Aircraft Canon plugs for the installation. I was wondering if anyone has some pics of an installation or has done this before. Anything to watch out for, besides the obvious.

I'm curious, are there any aftermarket products that one can buy to do this?

Never seen this before, but sounds like a cool idea.

That's a cool idea but quite a large undertaking. If it were me I would use a bulkhead cannon plug and attach the puppy to the firewall. That would be super cool.

Any idea how many wires are in there?

Make sure the strain relief seals are used, crimp to spec, and most importantly make sure that the pins/pin sizes are rated for the larger wires in the harness. Of course lining all the wires up with their correct counterpart is a good idea too.

It's the ultimate way to neatly dispose of all useless cable and related gear when you build a custom harness. Quick removal for repair or cleaning of motor bay.

Ford has been using these for over a decade, I plan on doing this to my car as well.
