I usually get asked: Aren't you too old for this type of car? Like... What type? Would it have been ok if I drove a Ferrari? (I'm 27 btw)

There's always hate/envy/subaru love. Too bad both of my tuned evos were faster than any STi in the country

If you really care that much about others opinions go wingless and put the JDM tails on the car...itll look pretty mild other the nthe flared fenders and hood.

I'll be 47 in a few months. No one asks me that. <grin>

If any of us cared what people though about the car we drive, I think we would be in hybrids or something

The Evo is a ugly freaking 4door saloon. It rusts after one season in the winter, it has a week transfer case. Stupid cheap dash board, rough ride bouncy sporty. Stupid wing, long antenas, Seats are too small for average americans (LOL sad but true). Tranny is clunky, rear diff clunks, taillights are ghey, ABS is horrible, cailpers fade, wing fades, no cabin air filters, HVAC binds up and stops working. The dog leg gets chipped and rusts. Stock clutch is weak, sunroofs get stuck and break. Back seat is not comfy at all. Stock recaros wear after a couple years. Car oversteers like a bastard. Car is made in Japan.

All that crap wrong and they will always be better than a 1g dsm....they are fast handle on rails. Best bang for your buck since a DSM when it comes to power. Put 1k into an Evo go low 12's 1k in an STi does crap. They are reliable to a point but since we usually demand a lot of power out of them it does bring it down. I have had people in trucks and mustangs throw stuff at me, tell me to get a real car and flip me off on a normal basis. I love my evo if I sell this one I will have another shortly.

30 and never had any bad comments. When going to the race track, lot of older people than me there and they have much respect for these cars. When in public, get lots of stares and waves.

Don't be disappointed, you are still a youngster. I'm turning 50 and I just brought my Evo 03 two month ago. I enjoy what I drive! Leave it alone and enjoy it.

If you love your car AND you're that worried about what other people think.... lose the wing. That will help a lot probably.

Me? I'm 37 and don't care what others think about my car. I've had a LOT of cars over the years, and some very nice ones (including a '08 VW R32... BORING!). Always go back to the 03-06 Evo's.

They never Statute you as a Critic but there's not a Statute that's never been Criticized....don't know if I said that right but there's always going to be Critics of everything....

Ask those same Tards to ask the John Force, Jay Leno, David Letterman & a Ton of others who are Life Long Car enthusiasts if Age has anything to do w/ the Love of owning a car you enjoy driving or b/c of it's born character...

I don't know about you but living in the NYC Tri-state area practically all my life, the avg drivers seen in Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos etc are older men & women.
I see a woman in a Silver 997 911 Turbo, she looks to be in her late 40's or early 50's....I'm sure she has her share of Critics....lol....

Drive the car you have, enjoy it b/c you never know when you're gonna go

I just turned 35 btw, the Love for Boost won't out grow you....

I live in the middle of nowhere and I saw woman in her 70s driving a brand new Porsche. I was a bit stunned, but thought it was pretty cool.

Since I've gone wingless I haven't nearly gotten the same attention as I used too, whether it be good or bad.
