take your wheels off add 2 donuts and your car is theirs,
But this really does suck, there is new equipment now that they sell @ car shops that is like lowjack but unlike depending on police to find your car you can track where your car is and how fast its going etc via GPS on ur computer

After having this happen to someone I actually know, it has me thinking about my own car too.... I was looking at this unit:
http://www.escortradar.com/entouragecis/
The 2 day backup battery is nice, even if the batterys disconnected it'll still transmit..... Hide it somewhere that the odds are they wouldnt look quickly and you should have some time to track it....
I'm still waiting to hear back from him, but I don't think there's been much progress......

if i were u i wouldnt want my car back, its never the same, sold my civic to a kid and it was stolen from him within 2 weeks, partly his fault because he left the window down in the mall parking lot... it was kinda funny that his friends were outside and waved to the guy driving away in his car, they didnt realize it wasnt him ... not something to really laugh about but kinda comical in a sense... i felt bad cuz it was my car with my hard work and money dumped into it, now its prolly in a million pieces... if i were u i would try and replicate ur car with the insurance money u get... def get LOJACK if u didnt already have it...

the key bypass is usually used in remote start alarms to bypass the immobilizer to enable the vehicle to start. i wouldnt think Mitsubishi would actually sell one of these units. to program the units sold for alarm system you have to have the key to program it and some you have to keep the key in it to work. this is something the cops can hopefully figure out. they can probably trace that bypass if it was purchased through mitsubishi. i wonder how they were able to program it?
These stolen evo threads are so frustrating! Did anyone have an opporotunity to copy the rf code in your key? Oil change, alignment? Valet? If so, find out if any of the other guys who've gotten their Evo stolen have visited the same places. There's probably a common thread that not being seen right away.
