OEM vendors to replace my factory defects.
Hello,
It's been a long time since I have posted here. I have been searching for some great vendors with great prices to buy some OEM parts as I'm currently looking to sell my 2004 Evo. I have been plagued with the clear coat issues on my rear CF wing, Brembo Calipers, and wheel paint bubbling and chipping away. Mitsu will not help on this, nor dealers, and looks like I will of course have to pay out of pocket as it's out of warranty, even though the vehicle was garage kept, and only has 38,000mi on the clock.
I did not know where else I could post this to ask for help, so I posted here. If it belongs somewhere else, can a mod please move this thread there, and notify me where it is so I may follow this?
Others may PM me as well, any details if that is easier these days?
I was currently looking into getting a brand new Evo, but at this point of time I severely question the build quality of any Mitsubishi product. It's boiling down to a new STI, Evo, or lol, Mustang GT of all things. It isn't looking good for the mitsu at this point though, as I really fear I would have similar issues again. I have some horrible pics of the issues, but I'm sure you all have seen them at one time or another.
Thank you again all!

yeah, if you are gonna keep it in the garage and don't drive the car, those defects will annoy you more than say, someone who drives and uses the car everyday. to me, those little things are nothing compared to the rock solid reliability this car gives me on a daily basis, through rain or shine. drive all of them and pick the one you like, plain and simple. the evo 10 is not for everyone, the sti is nice, and the new 5.0 mustang will have rednecks and young gangbangers whipping their necks to look. all are good cars, but it depends on what your looking for. good luck.

Or if you search/read you can easily find how-to's for fixing at least two of those things yourself
An auto shop can reclear the wing or someone on here has posted a how to.
You can fix the calipers for about $2.00 per corner and 30 mins of your time each.

the looks of the car doesnt have anything to do with the way the it is driven. maybe he likes a good looking car like i do. i drive my car pretty hard pretty often and my calipers fading and it bothers me just like any dirt or droppings on the car and small scrapes on the lip. so that means i dont drive the car the way it was meant to be? all because i want my stuff to stay looking nice

So.. Wait..
Clearcoat on the wing
Repaint/powdercoat the calipers
Repaint the wheels
A good body shop would probably charge a grand total of ~$500-$700 to fix all 3 issues you are having. Why would you replace thosee parts exactly? Plus if you think those things are bad, anyone I know with a Chrysler product would like to have a word with you about quality paint and clearcoat

how in the world do you know how this guy drives his car?

But yes, I agree, a car doesn't have to look like it's beat to hell to mean it was "enjoyed" by it's driver. Unfortunately, I would have addressed these things earlier, but life happens sometimes.
But yes, I'm probably going to go back to another Evo I decided. Probably that sexy Black.
I'd love to know how it's done for $2 as far as the calipers go. I think they need a little more than a scuff and clear if that's what you're suggesting though, they're in bad shape.
I'll end up getting a quote from a shop on the wing. It's just a shame that I have to on a car with so little miles on it.
EDIT: I did some dug through a bunch of different threads now and got lucky via google searching it. Thanks all that helped.
