Am I screwed?

Okay I read a bunch of threads on this. So today I picked up my sister we went around town, I did hit a empty garbage bag and something in the road metallic of some sort, just the tire part hit it though. So I was on the highway going about 60 in 5th gear. I hear a extreme rattling noise, sounds like the muffler of some sort or trunk. I got out to see if anything was loose like the trunk or something, trunk wasn't loose. Checked if the tails were loose because I just installed those today, nope those were good too. Okay so now what could be the problem? Is the exhaust suddenly loose? My problem is relavant to these threads. If anyone could chime in with a solution to this it would be amazing. I want to know if I have to shell out 2g's to fix it or if its an easy solution. I have yet to try to turn the cable to 180 degrees. Im not educated enough to do so.'

Maybe your muffler is rattling against something, have you checked under your car?

Sounds like one of my old problems.

Since its over 55+ means its probably something caught on by the wind at those speeds.

Check your fender linings where the wheels are to make sure they are rubbing on the tire.

If you see your fender lining loose and kind of shiny from rubbing...... thats your problem.

Yeah, agreed.

I think in that case, its probably not something serious (good thing!)

The decel noise I have in 4th. But I can deal with that, this 55+ noise is unbearable. I need to get it fixed ASAP. I'll check the fender lines and tires.

I don't think Dube has bought a new exhaust yet, at least if he has he hasn't posted about it.

From the picture I noticed you don't have an undertray. That probably didn't help matters when you hit something. I would jack it up and give it a look for any other damage. Just my 2 cents.

Don't crawl under with the car on the jack from the trunk or any other jack. To do this safely, you need jack stands.
