Nice Vid of the Subaru! I tow my kids everyday. I would say a one time tow would be fine, but I wouldnt use it as my go to car for towing.

I've been towing a double jetski trailer and a small trailer with ATVs / dirtbikes on it behind my 04 WRX for a couple years now. Maybe 2 times I had a steep ramp to pull the jetskis out of the water on, makes it hard on the clutch and I smelled clutch burn a little bit.. but the car has 91k miles on it now and still running the stock clutch, no slippage

Would it pose any risk to the EVOs fancy schmancy ACD / drivetrain? My wrx is just a dumb mechanical setup.

Our evos also have a tow ring under the rear bumper (actually a tie down) which i have used to tow several 4X4 trucks out of the mud at our Christmas tree farm. I especially like the one with the "no jap cars" sticker in the window. Should have taken a picture of that.

I will never use my Evo for towing. Purchased a Z71 Chevy pickup for when I want to tow/haul something, camper, fourwheeler, etc. I try to use the correct vehicle for the application, I wouldn't take the truck to the track.....

And you are basing this on what data, or personal experience? Just because your evo was not marketed as a tow vehicle doesn't mean its unsafe to tow light loads. Same for my WRX as I said above. Ive seen another guy in an STI whos been towing his jetski for years with no problems.

I never said it was unsafe?

My comment is based of personal perference and some common sense.

Why due any possible damage to my Evo, when I can use a truck that is made for towing? Let's face it, mid to late 90's pick-up trucks are very affordable. If a person can afford to buy an Evo and toys to tow behind it , he or she should be able to pickup afford a couple grand for a cheap tow vehicle.

Use an Evo, not a WRXor a Sti, to tow stuff around and update us on the status of the car. That will give us all Evo owners data.

I will still use a truck for towing....

I was just about to post that video the evo holds the fastest tow World record. If you have a proper frame mount and the trailer lights hooked up i dont think there would be a better car for towing. Yeah the proper way to do things is with a truck but if you have a little 14 foot aluminum boat the evo willl tow the hell out of it.

Well, I'd never try a boat with the Evo. You'd go down the boat ramp but you would never come back up the boat ramp.
