Does anyone know if EVO 8 stock exhaust system is exactly the same as EVO 9?

 

Which part of the exhaust?

I know that the 02 outlet and downpipe are the same for sure, I think the manifold, cat and cat back are also the same. The hotside of the turbo is not.

 

Starting from downpipe, cat, and cat-back. If I buy a stock cat from a evo 8, will it fit perfectly into my 9?

 

It might not because of the acd pump. If it was off of a 05 Evo 8 it may fit, but most likely not on a evo made before 05. But i may be wrong.

 

Downpipe: Depends if its ACD or not. Usually an ACD downpipe can fit a non ACD car, but not the other way around.

Cat: Evo 9 has o2 bung on the center section of the cat, Evo 8 does not.

Catback: Evo 8 catback has an o2 bung on the intermediate pipe, Evo 9 does not.

Other than those differences mentioned, everything else is a direct bolt on.

 

i do not believe it will fit, you will most likely have to modify the downpipe
