Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR
hello .. new here!

i'm about to buy my firt car(evo VIII) .. and how do i know if the evo is MR or not ?

MR usually has the 6spd in it. Or if it has the MR badge on it..

6spd, nice seats, badge on center console where shifter is, shift knob, pedals, rear badge, bbs wheels, aluminum roof, and vortex gen (rear roof) i might forget something, but thats how you can tell

You can swap the 6sp out for a 5sp. Alot of MR owners do that if they want to run alot of HP or don't want to deal with the fragile 6sp

That is a can of worms. They are different. Depends on what you want to do. I wouldn't say one is better than the other. Again depends on what your plans on for the car.
