400hp only producing 300hp? Robbed/choked? Help
I was told that EvoM could help solve this problem.
Current Power Mods: Injen intake, Injen upper & lower I/C piping, Evo 9 BOV, ETS 3" FMIC, ported exhaust manifold, ported 3076r turbo, 3" downpipe, 3"testpipe, 3" HKS hi-power Catback, HKS 272's, Vishnu Camgears, Walbro 255, Denso 720cc, Okada coil packs, AEM Boost Controller @ 27 psi..
Location: Utah (higher elevation) 1/4mi. 14.1 @99
A virtual dyno on the car showed a whole 320 whp, 272wtq...
Compression: (dry) #1) 140 #2) 140 #3) 145 #4) 123
(wet) #1)145 #2)145 #3)145 #4)135 (I meet the 10-15% allowance)
I should be around 400+whp.
What could this problem be that is choking my engine or robbing me of 100 hp/tq?
Thanks

wow stock evos are faster then that, i hear that the hi flow cat melt extremely easy maybe that's clogging your exhaust, put a test pipe on it and take her for a run. but who knows really

The above poster is right, its just something that you have to explore. Something sounds like it is choking either the induction into the turbo or the charged air after the turbine. Most likely suspect is the high flow cat (Edit: Saw your running a test pipe, still check the couplers and FMIC for potential blockages), but I have seen people with collapsed couplers, things sucked into the MAF, etc. You just have to rip things apart and look for anything suspicious.
If everything checks out then its time to start looking into the turbo and possible causes for why it isn't producing efficiently enough, i.e. broken fins on the blade, shaft play, etc. Lastly its time to look into the tune.
Your evo should run much better than a 14.1 though, a good amount of stockers with good driving can beat that time. Keep us posted.
