Valve cover hole?

So I was prying around the valve cover and noticed there is a hole(rivet like) in the valve cover. one going into the spark plug valley and one on the back side above IM. I am seeing an oil leak and was wondering if this could be causing it. What is the purpose of said hole? Has anyone else had issues with this? I'll try to get a pic tomorrow if people are unclear.

That hole is to drain the spark plug valley so the coils don't short out if it were to fill up. Probably not the source of your oil leak unless the small tube was taken out of it and put back in wrong.

That's not causing the valve cover to leak, you probably have a crack in the vc.
Those are found on all valve covers and go all the way thru.

check right around where all your bolt go through. i had the same problem and found a crack right around one of the bolts. had to get a new valve cover.

I'm with the OP...I have traced a leak to that hole right behind the passenger side of the VC...mine is DEFINITELY leaking right out that hole, on idle I see little oil bubbles forming around it. I was told it could be sealed up...
