Fuel pump install question

I'm getting ready to install my fuel pump and I'm not tuned yet. I hope to be getting tuned within a few weeks. I'm worried about needing a adjustable fpr to keep my car from running extremely rich. Should I need to worry about this or will my car correct itself?

your ecu tells your fp how much to pump, the 255 is more capable meaning it has to potential to pump more gas out but will not if not tuned.

So my ecu will correct it to run normal levels. Awesome. That's all I wanted to know.

I just dropped my 255 in 2 weeks ago, not tuned yet, runs fine but I think it does run richer, tuner said it would run fine just worst MPG until tuned. Car backfires/pops more off throttle.

You won't need to change your fpr, however a tune couldn't hurt. Your fuel trims will have stayed the same in the ecu, but your base fuel pressure wil have gone up causing you to go a bit rich accross the board (assuming you were dialed in before).

I put it in today along with my downpipe and to be honest I don't feel any power loss at all.

back when I did my walboro before I re tuned the evo, it didnt feel slower or faster. The pump was louder, and the exhaust fumes did smell like it was running a bit richer, but thats all my butt dyno noticed before the tune.

You really should've waited until the day that you get tuned to install the fp, it only takes about 20 minutes..
