OEM radiator additive problem

Hi guys,

I need to change the radiator fluid, so I went to mitsubishi and bought the C470 OEM additive(green one).

I got distilled water and mixed them 60%water/40%additive.

After two days I noticed a lot of sediments in the solution...

So, I decide to buy immineralized water to test... again I noticed sediments in the new solution

The mysterious thing is that I tested the additive with distilled water from pharmacy and NO sediments were formed...

I think that the additive should not be so sensitive to type of water

Somebody already faced this type of problem?

I thought demineralized water WAS distlilled water? Either way, it shouldnt matter where or what brand, if its distlilled water it should all be the same--Unless you bought it in some back alley somewhere. What was the difference between the two types of distlilled water you used?

my hunch is maybe when you changed fluids you didnt thoroughly flush it....but loosened sediments trapped eventually and showed up...

hard to diagnose from afar

The type one of distilled water was taken at the laboratory where I work, the type two of distilled water was bought at pharmacy.

Obs: I did not change the fluid yet, the sediments were formed at the bottle where I mixed them.

I was reading at the web and found out that the green japanese coolant additive contains no silicates and are different than green ones sold in US. The orange and pink coolants are not compatible with green ones.

Things are getting complex...

why don't you just flush the system and refill with an antifreeze long life coolant just like the user manual suggests? I had to flush my radiator a while back and since I am in Ecuador, we have little to no options when it comes to mitsu fluids, so I went with some citroen-peugeot coolant that was antifreeze long life safe for aluminum radiators, and it was imported directly from France too lol.

Why not just use the regular everyday green coolant? I've never used anything else in my evo

I'm thinking of using a different coolant... I'm searching and searching... Tryed Paraflu today that is FIAT approved... two days in the bottle and I can tell if the sediments will appear or not, BUT this additive is a lot "lighter" a more soft green color than Mitsubishi one, and btw is written concentrated coolant.

Tomorrow I will try to by the Motul Inugel Expert Ultra.
